Or at least that was the plan...They're 'Out of stock' :) Any idea when these might be back in stock?

I actually went for a VZ9 in the end, as they were in stock. I'll maybe upgrade, if that's a possibility, when the VZ11's become available again. The good news is that I got this one specifically to run an Alfresco CMS (Java-based), and it seems to work fine without any tweaking (although I will set Xmx etc. when I can work out where to do it with the embedded Tomcat instance in Alfresco).

If it works well, don't need to upgrade, but, of course, upgrade is always a possibility, even if the required package is not in stock, most of the time the difference in disk space and memory can be deducted from lower plans.

Man, Alfresco is huge. I sure hope VZ9 memory will be able to contain it.

I expected it should work without any tweaking. I think Alfresco also does automatic Windows file sharing, not sure if that will work.

bbol: not tried resin yet. but im guessing it will work. my java apps also work with normal .18 ovz when i tried that with other provider

Admin, thanks. The extra memory of the VZ11 over the VZ9 is what appealed to me (disk space is unimportant), so I'm hoping I may be able to pay a little extra and get this. How would I go about doing so?

jcaleb, yes, Alfresco is big and I'm hoping the VZ9 will cope. No big deal if it doesn't, it's not a mission-critical thing at the moment and will never be heavily used. 2Gb RAM should, I hope, be sufficient.

Open a ticket with exactly what you need and someone from Sales will give you a quotation.
IMO you would be better off to just ask for an upgrade to VZ11, though, it is easier to do than making a custom plan which will probably involve some financial overhead for you too, making it impractical over simple upgrade to vz11. I mean you will pay extra for customization while if you simply upgrade you will also have the other stats upgraded at just a bit bigger price.
With everything considered, VZ9 should be able to cope for light/testing usage.
